Statement of Intent
An enquiry based approached will allow children to learn how to ask relevant questions about the past and provide opportunities to research historical events that have shaped the world around us.
Children will use a range of primary and secondary sources to support them in developing their own opinions and understanding the periods of history studied.
Key aims
Children will develop:
- A chronological understanding of periods of British and world history outlined below.
- Understanding of significant events that have shaped the world
- Their ability to ask, research and answer historical questions and information
- An ability to make links between different periods of history.
